Within the framework of the LdV programme, this is a mobility project being promoted by INTERGARBE in 2010 / 2011, for the young Deaf and the Hard of Hearing.
INTERGARBE is currently looking for a partner in Europe to develop this project.
Underlying the overall process of social and labour integration prevails the concept and the practice of accessibility as an essential condition for people with disabilities to fully participate in social, economic and cultural life of their country. Thus, only through broad access to education and training, without any discrimination, in a perspective of lifelong learning, it is possible to combat exclusion.
The main objective of the project V I D A S is therefore to facilitate access to vocational qualifications, encouraging autonomy and improving self-esteem of the deaf. The project will meet the needs of participants of acquisition, development and improvement of new personal, social, cultural and linguistic skills, namely the professional skills.
It is expected that the project contributes effectively to qualify these young people and adults, unemployed and looking for the 1st job, and thus contributing to enhance their employability and to facilitate their inclusion, considering that working is a civil right and has a structuring effect on key aspects of life of people with this disability, such as economic autonomy and personal achievement among others.
The project will have a lifespan of 22 months starting on 1 June 2010 and end on 30 May 2012. It involves the Centro de Línguas INTERGARBE (promoter and sending organization), the Participants (young and adult Deaf / Hearing Impaired, age range 18/24) and the host partner organization karriere club. The work placements of the participants, with duration of 13 weeks, will be held in Europe and the motility is planned for September 2011.
