Maria Oliveira is the General Director of INTERGARBE and the Coordinator of GIJA office. She has a Degree in Tourism and Foreign Languages from ISLA - Superior Institute of Languages and Administration, Lisbon.
She has been working with the LdV Programme since 1997 and has coordinated and developed with success around 30 mobility projects for several, public and private, Portuguese organisations. As a result of this work, hundreds of young portuguese, including Deaf, have learn a foreign language, also sign language, and have been placed into the labour market in Portugal and around Europe. Also, many Portuguese teachers and trainers had the oportunity of exchange new experiences and good practices around Europe.
On the other hand, she has placed hundreds of young foreign participants of LdV programme into public and private portuguese companies. Most of them, mainly italians, has chosen to stay in Lisbon, living and working.
